So you’ve booked your stay at the Lohas Residences in Bangkok. After a fast and seamless check-in, you’ll be ready to hit the streets of Bangkok and Sukhumvit Road. One place to go is the Ploenchit BTS stop on the Skytrain.

Ganesha

Do you value intellect and wisdom? Then Ganesha Shrine is a good place for you to start. Ganesha is a Hindu name and it represents wisdom and intellect. It is also said that after visiting the Ganesha Shrine across from the gigantic Central World Mall you will be empowered with creative and artistic successes and accomplishments. I cannot confirm nor deny this bit of insight, however, Ganesha is a beautiful place and it’s certainly worth spending some time there.

Place your Bets

Gambling is illegal in all forms in Thailand, however, on one Sunday each month, you can hit the horse track not far from the Ploenchit BTS. If you like to play the ponies then make sure you spend a Sunday here. You can only place bets of 50 baht so you won’t worry about going broke. You’ll simply have a great time and maybe even win a little bread in the process. The action here can get fast and furious and it’s definitely an adrenaline rush.

Ice Skating

Another fun thing to do that’s a bit out of the typical Bangkok experience is ice skating at Central World. The Rink as it’s referred to is a pretty big surface of ice so you’ll be able to skate around with the wind flying through your hair without bumping into anybody. The Rink is on the ground floor of the mall and you enjoy a giant atrium overlooking the ice. The cost of rental skates is about 200 baht which includes an hour of ice time. You can pay about 250 baht for an hour and a half of skating.

So when you’re ready to venture out from Lohas Residences make sure you hit the Ploenchit BTS stop and enjoy a different kind of fun in Bangkok.
