May it be during the rainy season or just the occasional shower, rainfall doesn't necessarily have to interfere with your holiday in Bangkok. There are plenty of things to do and to experience for everyone – family, couples or friends. Most locations are easy to reach from the hotels near Nana BTS station so there is no need to waste time for a long journey.
Not only a mega-shopping mall but rather an entertainment complex that besides shopping and food offers a 15-screen cinema, an indoor child play zone and even an ice skating rink. Connected by a sheltered walkway to other malls, hotels and Skytrain BTS, you can wander around while it's pouring outside.
SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World
Located in the basement of Siam Paragon shopping mall, which is by the way another possibility to spend a whole rainy day, this aquarium of the well-known Sea Life franchise is also one of the largest aquariums of Southeast Asia. Highlights are the ride on a glass-bottom boat, a glass tunnel under one of their tanks so you can see the sharks swimming above you and a small rainforest including snakes and spiders. If you want to extend your rainy day activities, you can purchase a discounted combined ticket to the nearby Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum at Siam Discovery Mall.
The Bangkok Art and Cultural Centre (BACC) is an engaging and though-provoking way to spend a rainy afternoon. The stunning cylindrical building with a similar spiral staircase lining the outer wall certainly can't deny its fashion from some Guggenheim idea. Inside you will find changing exhibitions ranging from sculptures to photography as well as any other creative discipline. Entrance is free and to finance it there a few shops and cafés with a wannabe-bohemian vibe.
